Heather, who writes one of my daily blog reads "Alis Grav Nil" shared her more interesting version of a survey and I thought I would give it a go as well. A yummy chicken is roasting in the oven, the broth for risotto is being simmered and I am putting my feet up after a productive day and spilling my guts on all kinds of things you probably didn't want to know about me :)
A - Appointment TV in your house: Right now the boy is catching up on The Office via Netflix and in the meantime all the current episodes are being DVR'd. So yea, The Office.
B - Best meal someone ever cooked for you: I'm pretty easy - a marinated and grilled tri tip with mashed potatoes makes me happy. That's, of course, if I can't include restaurant meals.
C - Canned veggies, frozen, or fresh?: I'm so bad with eating vegetables. I'm trying really hard to get better, but my body doesn't crave them - in any form. But I do love fresh tomatoes, home-grown, with salt, pepper and a dash of balsamic vinegar on them!
D - Dad's influence in your life: Taught me how to buy a car and to always search out the best price on just about anything. I am one of those people who loooooves Google and will search endlessly, from website to website to find the cheapest price on a pair of shoes, no shipping and no tax.
E - Eating philosophies: Just about everything, but in moderation. I would love to "eat clean" every single second of my life, but there is hole that sometimes only a big, juicy hamburger or ice cream sundae can fill.
F - Flower you love to receive: Gerbera daisies, peonies and roses are nice too :)
G - Good old movie you'd recommend: old movie? I'm horrible with old movies... I couldn't even sit through Breakfast at Tiffany's. No recommendation - sorry.
H - Heaven for you is: 75 degree weather, my favorite jeans, Reef flip flops, tank top, sitting on an outdoor patio of an amazing restaurant overlooking the ocean with someone that makes me smile. Oh, some sort of fruity, slushy drink in hand - of course!
I - Ice cream flavor that rocks your socks: Phish Food from Ben & Jerry's or anything chocolate with NO nuts!
J - Your jam (bread topper and on the radio): Peanut butter & right now anything by Lady Gaga gets me movin'.
K - Kids that do this crack you up: Just the funny things they say and you wonder "Where did they learn THAT word?!" Recently, the 4 year old niece in England (in her English accent) was asked whether she thought mommy had a boy or girl in her belly. She basically said "Mommy is a girl, I am a girl... another girl would just be ridiculous." Maybe it was cuter because of the accent.. but what 4 year old says ridiculous?
L - Your legacy: My baking and hopefully my love for the Lord.
M - Most Friday nights, you're typically: Either singing the praises of a weekend off or dreading working the next morning.. and I am not sure I have a typical thing I do, but lately it has been hanging out with Craig :)
N- Nightly habits: P90X and The Office on Netflix
O - On your kitchen counter: Breville juicer, water bottle, cutting board with leeks and asparagus waiting to go into the risotto, cookbook and some other crap not worth mentioning.
P - You're protective about: my beliefs - God is good!
Q - Question you have for the universe: Why the better weather often seems to fall on the weekend I work??
R - Running, biking, walking, or driving?: Running - although I haven't done it in awhile. This P90X thing is eatin' up all my time!
S - Spa treatment: Normally I am a massage and salt scrub sort of girl, but I had a oxygen facial at the Bliss Spa in the W Hotel in San Francisco that was amazing... well, minus the extractions part. But salt scrubs, if done right, feel like bliss themselves!
T - Talent you use to freak people out: I have a file cabinet in my brain of all sorts of facts and knowledge that I have no clue where I got it from, but manages to spill out when someone needs it. Not sure it freaks people out, but it freaks ME out.
U - Under your bed, we'd find: One underbed storage tub that has snow clothes in it.. or something. My blown attempt to organize winter vs. summer and change them out as the respective season approached. Never happened.
V - Vampires, your opinion?: I just don't get it. I mean, I saw Twilight and it was mildly entertaining, but I don't get what the big deal is.
W - What you would tell your 16 year old self: Don't worry about befriending the cool kids. Stick with band and just have fun. Life is too short to impress the people you think matter the most, because in the end they won't! And don't be so flippin' image conscious - you're beautiful, smart and worth it!
X - Extreme for you is: embracing last minute plan changes...
Y - You'd relive this moment from your life if you could: I can't think of a single moment I'd want to relive, really. The only thing truly meaningful and amazing that comes to mind right now is being able to be there for my nieces birth. I didn't think I'd get emotional, but I totally choked up!
Z - Zodiac sign--true or crap?: I don't think it's entirely impossible that God didn't order people's basic personalities based on when they were born (because everything else he created has order!), but as for crazy daily horoscopes, total crap. Entertaining, but crap!
