Rub-a-dub-dub

My legs ache. Thank goodness for the invention of bathing. That lavender infused salt bath is coming in very handy.

So, if the reason for me being sore is what I think it is, I am sad I let it get to this point. I once ran pretty regularly and did a bootcamp at least a couple of times a week. That all fell apart last summer and I held on to a trace of it until my trip to Spain in October. Unfortunately, mean boys do that to you. And here I am picking up the pieces of my fallen apart physical health. Sadly, I think my legs ache because of the whole 25 minutes of jogging I did with Baylie on Tuesday morning. Pretty pathetic, huh?

Back on the saddle I go.

With the achey legs and the overall need to not wrack my brain tonight for something half witty to write here, I am going to just relax and leave you with a passage in a book I am reading. The book is called "12 Christian Beliefs That Can Drive You Crazy - Relief from False Assumptions" by Dr. Henry Cloud & Dr. John Townsend. I admit I have skipped around in the book, but this passage hit home for me. My goal on a daily basis is always to become more mature, especially spiritually mature. It's not just about getting older, people.

The mature person is one who has gained a level of proficiency or wisdom in the four developmental stages: bonding (the ability to give and receive love), boundaries (having a clear sense of responsibility), sorting out good and bad (the ability to receive and give forgiveness in a fallen world), and becoming an adult (being able to exercise adult authority in the world).

These marks of maturity indicate one who has moved, in the apostle Paul's words, from milk to meat, one who has learned to love and work wisely, who has come a long way on his or her spiritual journey.
Amen.
