This blog was originally started as a place for me to spew anything and everything, and although that is still mostly the case, it has turned into a focus on healthy food and staying in shape.
You see, like a lot of women out there, I have been on the weight roller coaster. I never was the skinny girl in highschool, but within a few years of graduating I ballooned up to 180 pounds on my 5'5 frame. I don't know how I got there and at the time I didn't think I looked all that bad. Looking back is a different story.
Since then I dropped 40, gained 20 back, dropped 25, gained 30.. and now I think I've dropped 20 since May of 2011.
Now my focus is to keep it off through a healthy diet and exercise.
In March of 2011 I started to hear the rumblings of something called the "Paleo Diet". It sounded very similar to the Atkin's Diet and I had no interest in "fads." I had tried them before and not only felt so deprived, but just felt unhealthy. I knew there had to be a better way. After actually reading and researching Paleo, it all started to make sense. You see, I am one of those people who will dismiss something without really knowing what it is all about - UNTIL I keep hearing people talk about it. Then my curiousity is peaked and I finally dig in.
Let's just say that Paleo clicked as well and in my first 3 weeks of eating strict Paleo, without counting calories (which I think just makes me think of food more), I lost 6 lbs. It was almost effortless.
So if I've peaked your curiousity, a great site to visit and learn more is Robb Wolf. Even if that doesn't fully 100% convince you, just try it for 30 days. See how you feel. If you feel like crap on day 30, call me a liar and go back to whatever you were doing. If you do feel better, please contact me and tell me your story.
